Inaugural Worden, Wheels, and Wine Wander
Inaugural Worden, Wheels, and Wine Wander
September 5, 2026 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Butcher & Baker Provisions, 4719 NE State Hwy 104, Port Gamble, WA 98364, USA
Join OPR friends for a half-day tour on country roads between Port Gamble and Port Townsend. The route starts at Butcher and Baker in Port Gamble with a drivers’ meeting at 10:15A, and departure promptly at 10:30A. Arrive early if you’d like to get a coffee or sweet roll. After the drivers’ meeting, we’ll take the “long way” down around Quilcene, then up to Fort Worden in Port Townsend. At Fort Worden you can enjoy lunch at the Cable House Canteen or bring your own picnic. For the adventurous there is plenty to see there including pre-WW II gun emplacements, the Point Wilson lighthouse (still in operation), and a wide stretch of sandy beach for beachcombing. After the Fort, we’ll parade through Port Townsend’s waterfront downtown to the Kelly Antique Car Museum, a private collection of horseless carriages and steam and gas powered automobiles produced by manufacturers now lost to time (adults $10, seniors $8). Our final stop will be Marrowstone Vineyards on beautiful and some say slightly mysterious Marrowstone Island. If wine tasting on the lawn overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca doesn’t grab you, the live music will! After Marrowstone you’re on your way and on your own. This will be a scenic and (hopefully) spirited drive on some of the locals’ favorite roads. Save the date and join your hosts, Greg and Lynn Buscher, and Rick and Nikki Morasco, on September 5th. No cost, but please reply by 8/29/26 to social@opr-pca.org to let us know you’re coming.
