Vice President: Gary L. Anderson:

I grew up on a farm outside of Tomah, Wis. After high school I joined the Navy’s 6-year Nuclear Power Program as an electrician. I served on Poseidon-II class ballistic missile and Fast Attack submarines out of Spain and Connecticut respectively. After my 6-year enlistment and a brief stop home, I came out to Washington State in May of 1979. It was a sunny day… and not knowing anything about the PNW… I stayed. I should have invested in Gore-Tex.

Working in the electrical trade in Kitsap I became a WA State Licensed Journeyman Electrician and then received a full ride to Seattle University via a Government Apprentice Program graduating Cum Laude in Electrical Engineering. 5 years later I earned my Professional Engineer (PE) license. I’ve been the senior Electrical Engineer (EE) in the Utility Div in the “Shipyard”, Electrical Dept Manager at consulting firms, Director of Engineering and Design for NAVFAC out of Bangor and retired in 2022 as an Executive EE from a Seattle consulting firm. I am still licensed as a Journeyman Electrician and a PE EE in WA State… that is until March 2027 when both will be “retired”. Saying good bye to the electron will be hard to do.

My first “sportscar” was a 5-year-old Silver 1977 L82 Corvette. (Doing the story problem… that’s 1982) I immediately joined the Glass Odyssey Corvette Club. I was the Events Chair, Newsletter Editor, and the Rally Master (each for 7 years and for a few years all at the same time). While holding those 3 posts I was also the Vice President (1yr) and at the end, the President for … at least 2??? 3? years. I was involved with the Club for 14 years. My first Porsche was a 5-year-old 1999 Arena Red Boxster 5-speed. It had a gorgeous and rare tri-color interior. After 20 years of ownership, my wife allowed an upgrade to my… /our 2014 Guards Red Boxster S 6-speed… My dream car. My wife and I recently celebrated 39 years. My hobbies: Far too many to mention. Where do I love to be? Playing croquet on a professional croquet court, sitting in our Tiki Bar, and driving my Porsche convertible. BIG SMILES!

Secretary: Chris Eseman (Incumbent – running for another term):

My car passion goes back to my father’s influence as a designer at Ford Motor Company, where we used to attend the new model roll-out each summer. I remember sitting in a prototype Ford GT that he was working on the development of, as a little kid. The die was cast at that point – though my first car was a TR-6 (not a Ford) – which I am sure was a point of embarrassment for my dad.

I have been a member of OPR-PCA since moving from Seattle to Bainbridge Island in 2013. I bought my first Porsche in 2010 – a 2008 Cayman S. Since then, I have had stewardship of a 2016 Cayman GTS and currently a 2021 718 Spyder. All three are magnificent cars. So much so that we recently added a Macan GTS to the roster. I have always been a fan of Porsche racing cars and have made many pilgrimages to famous race tracks to cheer them on.

Having recently retired as a partner in a Seattle architectural firm, I have a long history of client leadership, effective organization of project teams and the clear presentation and management of information. I haven’t figured out exactly how retirement works yet, but I am loving having more time for meeting up at car events and drives. During my time at OPR-PCA, I have served as the Member-at-Large and am currently the Club Secretary. I hope to continue to serve our Club as its Secretary.

I live in Bremerton with my wife Arlayne and our golden retriever. We have two sons – one in Seattle and the other in the Bay Area and have 5 incredible grandchildren.

Jason Scheffer – Director-at-Large (Incumbent – running for another term):

My first Porsche was a 911 Turbo matchbox car, and I have been passionate about Porsche ever since. I am now the proud owner of a 1973 911 that has deep sentimental value. Passed down from my father-in-law in 2003, it has been part of my family since 1977. Before I got it, the car had been left uncovered and unprotected for several years, but under my care, it has been meticulously rebuilt. Assembling the car myself, I know practically every nut and bolt.

As a retired surface warfare officer in the Navy, I have honed my skills in leadership, problem-solving, and getting things done efficiently. My military background has equipped me with the perseverance and determination to tackle any challenge.

My dedication to the Porsche community, combined with my hands-on experience and strategic mindset, makes me an ideal candidate for the Member at Large position. I am eager to contribute to the club’s growth and help fellow members make the most of their Porsche ownership experience.
