NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1ST
2026 Board Member Positions:
We are accepting nominations for the following officers for the 2026 calendar year: Vice President, Secretary, and Director at Large. Please take a few minutes to read about these positions. If something interests you, please contact our Nominating Committee Chair, Brett Burroughs, at elections@opr-pca.org by 8/31/25. The OPR Board and supporting members ensure the smooth operation of our club. We encourage you to take a personal interest in our club and run for one of the open positions.
Vice President (2-year term):
The Vice President (VP) shall assist the President in the conduct of the administrative affairs of the Club and perform such other duties as may be assigned to the VP by the President. In the absence of the President, the VP presides over Board/Membership meetings; prepares the agenda and directs the discussion thereof. The VP is responsible for requesting insurance coverage for all moving car events (tours, rallies, tech sessions, etc.). They ensure the completion of Post Event and Observer’s Reports for these events, submission to the National PCA office, and maintain insurance records to include the signed waiver forms in accordance with the PCA National timeframe guidance. This is a 2-year position. As one of five elected Board members, the VP is required to attend the monthly Board/Membership meetings on a regular basis and the Annual Membership meeting. There is an expectation that the VP would become a candidate for President after their VP term is complete. Reach out to our current VP, Kip Sparber at vicepres@opr-pca.org, if you have any questions.
Secretary (2-year term):
The Secretary shall attend all meetings of the Board of Directors and membership, including the Annual Membership meeting, and shall keep full and complete minutes of the proceedings and of all votes cast thereat. The Secretary shall cause to be published the minutes of all meetings, notices of proposed and adopted amendments of the Bylaws and other matters relating to the proper conduct of the Club by providing a copy to the Newsletter Editor and Webmaster for publishing. This is a 2-year position. As one of the five elected Board members, the Secretary is required to attend the monthly Board/Membership meetings on a regular basis and the Annual Membership meeting. Reach out to our current Secretary, Chris Eseman at secretary@opr-pca.org, if you have any questions.
Director at Large (1-year term):
If you cannot decide which of the above positions you would like best, perhaps the Director-at-Large is for you. The Director-at-Large fills in where needed, either through direct tasking from the Board or the President, or through their own initiative. Depending on their experience and background in the Club, the Director At Large will act as a liaison and mentor to Committee Chairs, assist with special events, and other duties as needed to support Board requirements and address overall organizational goals. As one of five elected Board Members, you will be required to attend the monthly Board/Membership meetings on a regular basis and the Annual Membership meeting. This is a 1-year position. If you have any questions, please reach out to our current Director-at-Large, Jason Scheffer at memberatlarge@opr-pca.org.
Committee Chair Position:
We are looking for a volunteer for the 2026 calendar year to be our webmaster. If this interests you, or you know of someone who would be a good candidate, please contact our President, Denis Eckert, at president@opr-pca.org.
Website Chairperson:
Maintenance of the Olympic Peninsula Region web site at www.opr-pca.org. Any major updates and patching will be hired out by the club. The website chairperson just makes basic updates as new information is available to keep the site current. At a minimum, changes should be made within a few days of receiving new information. This often requires the chairperson to be proactive and ask event chairs and others in the Region for the updated information. The website should continue to include the following minimum information: Home Page (latest news and upcoming events with links to event pages for details and link to PCA National website), Club Contacts (board members & committee chairs with contact information), Calendar of Events (current year’s calendar of events that are scheduled with links to event pages for details), Event Pages (for upcoming events scheduled within the next month or so), Past Events (Pictures and write-up on past events), Past Newsletters & Board Meeting Minutes, Classified Ads, Club Sponsors (appear on each web page), and Club History. If you have any questions, please reach out to our interim Website Chairperson, Bill Elwell at webmaster@opr-pca.org.
